Why is a CII course important for insurance professionals?

Nicole: The CII Level 4 Diploma demonstrates a commitment to professional development. It ensures that insurance professionals can provide a high-quality service while adhering to industry standards.

It enhances our expertise, credibility, and career prospects by deepening our understanding of key insurance concepts, regulations, and industry practices.

What key skills did you gain from the diploma that you didn’t have before?

Nicole: Through the CII Level 4 Diploma in Insurance, I gained valuable knowledge in business and finance, insurance law, and claims.

These areas were new to me and have broadened my understanding of how the insurance industry operates from a legal and financial perspective. This is helpful for me while developing more relevant and informed training materials for our teams.

What did you enjoy about your CII course?

Nicole: I like that each module introduces new concepts and insights. The course covers various sectors within the insurance industry, such as life, health, property, and insurance.

One of the most rewarding and eye-opening assignments during the course was the M92 Business and Finance unit. I had never done anything like this before, and it was fascinating to gain insight into how brokers and insurers operate from a business and finance perspective. This deeper understanding of financial decision-making within the insurance industry was particularly valuable and expanded my skill set in a completely new area.

How has completing the diploma changed your perspective on the insurance industry?

Nicole: Completing the diploma has deepened my interest in the industry and my position, motivating me to learn more and further broaden my skills.

Nicole: One Sure allows me to complete part of the course during work hours, significantly alleviating the pressure of juggling work and studies.

Whenever I need to resit an exam, the company promptly rebooks it, even though an extra cost is involved. This prompt support helps me stay on track and continue progressing without delay.

The supportive environment makes it feasible for me to pursue my diploma and motivates me to excel, as I know that my company values and invests in my professional development.
