We’re absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. For the second consecutive year, One Sure Insurance has been named a finalist in the Insurance Times Awards 2024.

After bagging the bronze award in the ‘Excellence in Technology’ category last year, we’re now up for not one but two more awards. 

In December, we’ll find out if we’ve clinched gongs in the ‘Excellence in Fraud Mitigation’ and ‘Excellence in eTrading’ categories. 

What categories is One Sure Insurance nominated in at the Insurance Times Awards 2024?

We’re in the running for two highly competitive categories this year:

• ‘Excellence in Fraud Mitigation’.
• ‘Excellence in eTrading’.

First, ‘Excellence in Fraud Mitigation’ recognises our advanced fraud detection system within our in-house Merlin software. 

What is our Merlin software, and why is it unique?

One Sure has been recognised by Insurance Times for its bespoke software, Merlin. It isn’t available anywhere else and was created from scratch by our talented teams. This unique bespoke software is used across multiple areas of our business.

With Merlin, we can:

• Find niche insurance products for our customers.
• Ask customers tailored question sets to help find the best policy for their needs.
• Quickly produce the most competitive quotations on the market at the touch of a button.
• Gather the appropriate insurance documentation in less time.
• Help combat potential fraudulent behaviour within the motor trade industry.
• Facilitate MID updates for traders.

How does Merlin combat insurance fraud? 

Our Merlin platform monitors motor trade insurance policies for red flags like undeclared vehicle changes, unusual IP addresses, and suspicious MID data transfers.

By cross-referencing data across insurers, we’ve created a proactive fraud detection tool that protects both insurers and customers from costly claims.

Next, we’re also nominated for ‘Excellence in eTrading’. In this category, Merlin’s efficiency is being highlighted again. However, this time the focus is on how it helps us to support Tradex.

How does our software streamline our work with insurers?

Our partnership with insurers has allowed us to streamline operations with a motor trade road risk delegated authority scheme. By integrating this scheme into Merlin, we’ve gained full control over policy management, eliminated delays, and transformed how we handle customer requests. 

Now, we can instantly process requests and update the Motor Insurance Database (MID), offering faster service and real-time pricing updates.

What did One Sure win previously at the Insurance Times Awards 2023?

Last year, we took home the prize for ‘Excellence in Technology’. This was the first time that our Merlin software was recognised by the Insurance Times Awards for its ability to deliver fast, efficient policy management solutions. 

We transformed a previously slow and clunky process into one where our customers receive instant documentation, real-time adjustments, and better pricing. This innovation allowed us to outperform many larger competitors and marked a major milestone for our team.

Why being an Insurance Times Awards finalist is important for us.

We’re very proud to stand out as a broker among such huge brands and appreciate that the Insurance Times Awards have again noticed our teams’ dedication and hard work. Competing against some of the industry’s biggest names is no small feat, especially since many of those are large comparison websites.

We really could not have achieved this success without our amazing team. This is why we’d like to say a huge well done and congratulations to everyone who has played a part in getting us to this stage.
